Maneuvers – Leeds

May 11, 2010

Here’s a record that I won’t just hand to you, but it’s cheap (three dollars!). Maneuvers were a band that had a very traditional “rock” sound, maybe barely classifiable as Post-Hardcore. The At the Drive-In influence is very easy to pick up from them, if that gives you any more bearing on where this band comes from.

7b4fe396f5d3Awesome band – this release is a rare tour EP that was handed out at a few gigs in the US this year.

Big, full and positive. It’s a joy to hear new things from these guys.

Thursday – Common Existence

I like this album a little too much for my own good. I was really tentative about choosing the tags I have for this post but to be honest I just don’t care about labels. You guys will live.

Download link keeps getting taken down, find it here!

Ian – Riot at the Galleria

Saw these guys a week ago when they played a show with the Darts (will upload video eventually) and Fabion & the Calculator Kings. Best thing to come out of Wagga Wagga ever.

It’s generic indie rock but sometimes we need some well put together simplicity in our lives, right? There are a lot of catchy songs on here and I wouldn’t be surprised if they made it big in the near future.

But for now, let’s keep this gem to ourselves, yeah?
