3717952537-1So first off, apologies for the huge delay. I’m the only one that cares about this blog these days and my Mediafire account got banned (enjoy those 404 links).

We posted Charlottefield before and they rule. This does too.

The Jesus Years – Are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

July 16, 2010

Posi British math-rock which may or may not be a Christian release. Nevertheless don’t judge unless ye be judged, good music deserves a bop to and this delivers. The Jesus Years have since disbanded and now have a new moniker Crash of Rhinos. I’d say it’s definitely worth checking out when they release their LP/start playing shows.

Pretend – Bones in the Soil, Rust in the Oil

June 21, 2010

It’s got some really jazzy elements to it a la freeform noodling which makes it seem messy at times, but nonetheless it’s darn good. The title track is an extremely impressive work of composition.

Lana Avacada – The Warehouse

June 19, 2010

Okay okay okay if you listen to this and hate this it’s not my fault. This is an official warning: PLEASE DON’T LISTEN TO THE LYRICS. Lana Avacada is a sad case of fucking good music with shit vocals over the top. If you tune out the lyrics then maybe you’ll learn to enjoy The Warehouse as much as I do.

Rooftops – A Forest of Polarity

June 15, 2010

Dear everyone. I’m back.

I know you don’t want to hear what I’ve been up to etc but to say I’ve been busy is an understatement. As a token of my appreciation for your time I want you to fall in love with Rooftops too.

Brilliantly toned math-rock with the most complimentary vocals I’ve ever heard. Every song is crafted so delicately it sends shivers up my spine. Please, for the love of God listen to this.

Piglet – Lava Land

May 18, 2010

This is THE best EP any Math-Rock band has ever put out, EVER. The only shame in it is that they broke up shortly after a single EP.
