What Price, Wonderland? – It Is True It Is Shakey

January 21, 2014

This is some seriously underrated shit. I wasn’t in Melbourne when they played but I heard it was not well attended and that makes me sad.

They’re kind of like the British Sinaloa. Which is another band (I think?) that’s not together any more. What I’m trying to get at is emo is dead to me now.

Heads and Heads – Four Way Split

January 9, 2011

Following up on the previous post, I bring you the latest release by Heads and Heads. This is a four way split between Dying in Motion (Switzerland), Heads and Heads (Spain), The Plague Sermon (UK), and Virginia on Duty (Malaysia). It’s a collaboration between several labels including *ahem* mine. Yes, I’m posting my own record on here. I’m having a hard time moving records before I move to Melbourne, cut me some slack.

65daysofstatic – The Destruction of Small Ideas

June 9, 2009

5471ebdfNow, I’m not going to lie. The main reason I posted this was because of Circle Takes the Square’s brief appearance on the song ‘Conspiracy of Seeds.’ I guess I’m a fan boy. But if you put that aside, this also happens to be one of my favorite Post-Rock groups. I’d give a run down on the highlights of the album, but my computer is down, so I can’t do a recap myself. Just take my word for it. Please?

The Pirate Ship Quintet – Self Titled

May 28, 2009

1199823490_1111111222222Greetings from Alaska. I’m Jeff, and I’ll be posting some tunes here to keep your stream of free music consistent.

Anyways, The Pirate Ship Quintet is a seven piece Post-Rock band. Call me a sucker for strings, but the cellist makes this band for me. He’s a fairly renown British cellist who plays in a few symphonies. He’s even a stand in for the London Symphony Orchestra. This EP you’re looking at got some pretty good reviews too. I guess the rest of the band knows what they’re doing as well.
