Vio is girl I’ve had the privilege of being acquainted with and hearing her voice for real. This is what makes me mad at myself for not being able to do – simple, pure and captivating vocals over the sweetest guitar motifs you’ll hear.

Cash Money Bros. Live
August 10, 2009William Fitzsimmons – The Sparrow and the Crow
June 23, 2009
So I was going to post an album by a band that existed for one show only that went by the name of cash money bros – but I couldn’t find it, which upset me a lot….
Instead, I’m going to put up an album by a guy who I’ve been obsessed with lately – his music is charmingly simple, but so very complicated at the same time…. Plus he sports a wicked beard that is the envy of any grown man.
Track one is not his best song – skip it and give the album the chance it deserves.
David Bazan – American Flags EP
May 26, 2009
The man behind this 2 track EP is one of the most prolific artists of his time – and as per usual, has been greatly undervalued by everyone.
The driving force of such amazingly influential bands such as Pedro the Lion and Headphones, David shows on this hard to find EP that he can still kill you with his amazing vocal talents and simple song structures.
Erik Enocksson – With Its Dark Tail Curled ’round the Garage
May 25, 2009
Erik Enocksson is a Stockholm-based composer. He is also awesome as hell.
His stuff is hard to come by, as it is released under a label that specializes in limited releases. if you see anything by him – get it.
He did the soundtrack to one of the greatest *what am i doing with my life* movies of all times – find it. love it.
The last track on this album is a fleshed out version of one of the songs from the film, but with vocals. I dont know if it is better or not…
Enjoy.

A. Wallace – Dark Hallways & Other Ghost Songs
September 1, 2008
The first time I’d hear Aaron play was at the first house shows of Grant’s. It was an amazing night, partly due to being crammed into a pitch black living room, listening to Mr A. Wallace.
His persona changes completely. Aaron is pretty much the average huggable humble guy, but A. Wallace is something that gives me shivers. His voice isn’t to everyone’s taste, but hearing him play live first really got me open minded about his style.
The lyrics are really what fuels my love for this music, and that’s saying something coming from someone who basically listens to only instrumental music.
The pain and sorrow and conviction in every strum and warble never ceases to stop me in my tracks, and just listen.
Fulton Girls Club – I Eat Tinsel
August 22, 2008
My dearest Grant Gronewold, you have changed me. From letting me play your horrid (beautiful) piano to five people at your house shows to sharing (throwing) bread on deceivingly sunny days in the middle of winter at Cloud City.
You think you quit? Fuck that. I’m going to make everyone in the whole world listen to your Chicago (it’s Chicago, right?) tremolo voice and the epically honest shit you sing about.
You need to cuddle something when you listen to him. You simply must. Or lose yourself on a cold yet sunny day in the ‘burbs.
I’m not sure what to compare him to, the similar artists on last.fm put him up there with other local Melbourne solo projex but unless you’re familiar with them I can’t help you. It’s very lo-fi, very honest.
CUDDLE CLUB 4EVA.
Formed from the ashes of Pageninetynine, here is Pygmy Lush. Odd band really, they’ve done some Screamo, and some Folk, under the same name. This one however, is all Folk. Enjoy.
Yeah… I’m in a Folk mood lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of Nick Drake, this guy, Sufjan Stevens, Elliott Smith, Conor Oberst, etc. I like feeling sorry for myself. This guy also has a really gnarly beard.
